I retired on December 31, 1991 and three days later I was in the land of warm sunshine, great pools and golf, golf, golf.

After a few years of golf, golf, and golf, I decided that I needed to find something else to fill my time.  At one time I sang in the church choir and I thought, "why not buy a guitar, a book for dummies and learn to chord and strum it."

One day while strolling in the Kings Point clubhouse, I noticed a message that gave a number to call for anyone interested in country/bluegrass/gospel music.  After two weeks of thinking about it, I called and started to meet with four others in Kings Point.  As word spread about our group, we soon had too many pickers to meet in the kitchen and we had to find a meeting place.

We formed a club called "Front Porch Pickers" and that small group of five has grown to over thirty members.  I hope everyone gets as much enjoyment from this group as I do.
